These members will be our shadows for the remainder of this semester in order to get first hand experience and advice from their predecessors. This should help the transition process and keep the club on track!
Investigation Committee
We had an amazing first run of our Application Committee. Over the course of two weeks the committee discussed on Facebook each and every application in detail, taking into account both strengths and weaknesses of each applicant, as well as how the overall composition of team members would work.
Below are some statistics:
Total Number of Applicants: 9
Total Positions Available: 13
At the end of our Facebook discussion we all met in person and had final looks and commenced voting. Voting was conducted via anonymous ballots and an official counter. In the case of a tie, a random club member was selected for a tie breaker.
The results and our Investigation Committee for Spring 2014:
For those who did not get into the committee this time, no worries, applicants are encouraged to apply again next semester as the Application Committee takes this into account. We want each and every member to have an opportunity to be apart of the committee. Furthermore if you missed your opportunity to apply, don't fret, with 5 positions still open applications will run until they fill!
Being our first ever committee, we came up with some improvements for next time. We will be conducting Investigation Training prior to applications going out. This way each and every member is on a level playing field. In addition, applications will be discussed blindly, that is to say, without any name visible. This further eliminates any chance of bias.
Overall a huge success! Thank you all who applied!

Upcoming Events
We have an exciting opportunity with the Irish Student Union coming up! The ISU has expressed interest in co-sponsoring a Boston Trip with us in early to mid April. We jumped at the opportunity for both clubs as this would be an amazing chance to see some of the older areas of Boston. Keep an ear open for more details as the date approaches!
Base Budget
Its that time again, Base Budgets! This years budget is exciting for us as we have a lot of activities we are planning on holding including our much delayed trip to Salem with the History Club!
